God's Word in Your Life

I. Plant God’s Word in your life.
  A. Preparing Our hearts for God’s Word
    1. Asking God to forgive your sin (1 John 1:9)
    2. Asking God to soften your heart (Jeremiah 4:3)
    3. Coming to God’s Word in humility
  B. Receiving God’s Word
    1. Quick to hear; 2. Slow to speak; 3. Slow to Anger

II. God’s Word as mirror into your life
  A. Mirror is used for examination
    1. Only glancing in the mirror; picture vs. X-ray
    2. Forgetting what kind of person you see in the mirror
      1 John 1:8 Say we have no sin we deceive ourselves
      Isaiah 6:5-7; Luke 5:8
    3. Blessed for being an effectual doer of the Word
      John 8:31-32; So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, “If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.”
  B. Mirror is used for restoration (Exodus 38:8)
  C. Mirror is used for transformation
    2 Corinthians 3:18; But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit.
    Psalm 139:23-24; Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me and know my anxious thoughts; And see if there be any hurtful way in me, And lead me in the everlasting way.
