Temptation

1. Test vs. Temptation   A. A test is designed for the strengthening of your faith
    1. God proportions a test to your strength
      I Corinthians 10:13
    2. God sustains you when you are tested

  B. Temptation has three sources
    1. Temptation comes from the Devil
      I Peter 5:8
    2. Temptation comes from the world
      I John 2:15-17
    3. Temptation comes from the flesh
      James 1:14

2. Questioning of God’s Word
  A. Satan questions who Jesus’ father is
    Satan wants to cast doubt on your salvation
  B. Jesus replies that you need spiritual food over physical

3. Misuse of God’s Word
  A. Satan quotes God’s Word
  B. Jesus has an understanding of all of God’s word

4. Are you to worship God or Satan
  A. Satan is promising a world that he cannot give you
  B. Jesus points you to God
    1. You are to worship God
    2. You are to serve him only
